We are going to be migrating servers from vmware to hyper-v. I did a test migration today. i used the synchronize option to migrate with the server running. I found that when i booted the hyper-v server the static IP that i had set originally on the ESX side was now set to DHCP. Is there a way to maintain the IP configuration after the migration. I have not tested migrating a shutdown server without the synchronization option. Does it have the same behavior?

im guessing this is because MAC address changes? Can we maintain that?

Can we Migrate and keep IP configuration?

Windows server 2025 standard VM OS
2022 Hyper-v host
current version of the StarWind Converter.

Welcome to StarWind Forum.
You cannot avoid the DHCP reset, be a VM off or on. I think the issue comes when the VM is assigned to the new network adapter, which, in turn, resides on the switch. It is technically a new device.
V2V does not allow for setting up the networks. I will file a feature request, though.
