Anyone tested converting vm from proxmox v7 to hyper-v 2019? is there any issues regarding this conversion?

I'm also interested in this. Do you use any specific tool to convert (eg StarWind V2V or qemu-img)?

V2V converter should do it.

Thank you for this, it is very helpful.

Has anyone run into V2V sitting idly when trying to connect to a Proxmox host?

I enter the IP address and credentials, and then click "Next" and I get "Connecting. Please wait..." And it never connects.

Is there something I need to enable on the Proxmox host side? Or the device on the V2V side? Or both?

I've just found out that we did not test the latest builds of the Converter with Proxmox 7.
There could be some API call that does not work well, or traffic is blocked.

Are any of the older builds still available to test with?

I am not sure which build can work with 7, to be honest. Are those QUEMU? For QUEMU, you can copy those to the destination host and convert them locally.
Check this thread out https://forum.proxmox.com/threads/how-t ... -v.147984/ or try reversing this one https://www.starwindsoftware.com/blog/m ... owershell/ (for more details https://gist.github.com/bitroniq/59273e ... d733b4e155).

Didn't work.

Will there be a patch to get the current V2V to work with 7? Or can I download the older versions of V2V until I find the one that will talk to Proxmox 7?

Just to be clear. I am not going to Proxmox 7. I am going from Proxmox 7 to a Hyper-V on Windows Server DC 2025.

Please copy the files to the destination host and run converion there. It is almost impossible to tell since when the Proxmox 7 has stopped being tested, or if there is something wrong with this specific system.
