Thanks for the reply but https://www.starwindsoftware.com/resour ... e-vs-paid/ describes the free version as "Free version comes with an unrestricted set of features". CHAP is pretty basic and often fundamental to an infrastructure - ESPECIALLY in a non-prod environment where everyone is poking it with a stick.
Is there a definitive list of functionality that's only available to fully licensed "GUI" installs?
For testing, the trial 30-day license might work great. If you want to start trialing, please log a new call here https://www.starwindsoftware.com/support-form using this thread as a reference.
However, it is not possible to switch from the trial license back to free one.
I will request the appropriate change to the PowerShell toolkit.
That would be great if you could update the powershell toolkit.
We have already been talking with Oleksandr about purchasing licenses for our prod environment but for one reason or another, it ended up on a back burner. I emailed him a few days ago - perhaps I'll give him a chase...
Wow. Sad to read that. Could you please send an email to support@starwind.com, please? Will see how we can assist you.

Configuring CHAP for VSAN using PowerShell can be a powerful and efficient approach, especially for administrators managing large-scale environments. It would be helpful to include sample scripts or key cmdlets for setting up and verifying CHAP authentication, as well as any best practices for securing credentials.a
We are working on it.
What you cna do is spin up the trial version > set up CHAP there and alter the config on the FREE nodes accordingly (requires stopping the service and downtime as the servers won't authenticate after start).
