The screenshot says that conversion has failed, but you are saying that the VHD was produced.
Coudl you please let me know if the conversion finished or not?
INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE
This is a different problem and most probably relatest to the VM configuration or drivers. Try IDE controller and GEN1 VM.
Check this out. https://www.erniecosta.com/2020/02/26/h ... t-drivers/
Try also shutting down the VM and converting its disks.

I am also having the same issue trying to convert from VMWare ESXi server to Hyper-V. The VHDX file finishes copying but the virtual machine is never created. If I manually create a virtual machine from the file it will not boot. I have tried converting it with the vm both on and off. I have also changed the VMWare timeouts as suggested in a previous post. Is there anything else I can try?

Try converting the disk to a local file.

I figured it out:

1. Connected to ESXi via SSH using:
```bash
ssh -o PreferredAuthentications=keyboard-interactive root@x.x.x.x
```

2. Modified TCP keepalive settings in `/etc/vmware/rhttpproxy/config.xml`:
- Changed idleTimeSec from 900 (15 mins) to higher value (e.g., 28800 for 8 hours)
- This affects both serverSocket and clientSocket settings

3. Restarted services to apply changes:
```bash
/etc/init.d/rhttpproxy restart
/etc/init.d/hostd restart
```

This should prevent the authentication timeout that was causing StarWind V2V converter to fail during long conversions.
Are these for vSphere 7? You don't happen to know where the settings would be for vSphere 8, do you?

I'm running into the same issue and have changed the idle timeout through vCenter GUI, under Deployment area - but that didn't help. Tried looking at the location for rhttpproxy, but it looks like in v8 of VMWare, they swapped over to using new systemd - which rhttprpoxy no longer exist in the referenced area.

I'm looking to use v2v to live migrate some VMs across vCenters v8 with little downtime as possible. If it's offline conversion/migration - I can leverage vMotion, but i've got a couple that I'd like to live migrate.

it appears someone mentioned on another post, the synchronization process also doesn't shut off the source, so if you're not paying attention - it'll have some missing data post sync, can someone confirm this?

I've finally narrowed this down to a token timeout issue. Whatever they're doing to generate the token and session, they aren't doing anything to keepAlive the actual token so by the end of a long conversion(seems to be anything more than 45-60 minutes), it fails. Every. Single. Time. I've scoured the VMWare documentation for how they are generating this token to the SOAP api (https://vcenter.name.here/sdk), there's even a specific setting to allow keepAlive for tokens. I don't know what the dev team is doing but obviously they aren't testing exact configs in labs when they're making this.

I have succesfully converted dozens of VMs without the synchronization, offline. No issues there. But we have several large VMs that can't be offlined during conversion and that's why I'm here.

Devs if you read this, or Staff who can pass it to devs: Please for the love of god fix your SOAP api issues. The token you generate is only good for XX minutes unless you keepAlive it.

Edit: Thinking about this, you don't even need to keep the session alive, all you need to do is re-authenticate before you freakin' try to remove the snapshots! Esxi 8.0.2

Thanks for your feedback.
Dev team is already working on snapshot merge processes.
