Hello,
When I just try to connect locally (i.e. localhost or 127.0.0.1 or <machine name>), I get an error : " Cannot connect to the server. Username or password you entered is invalid."

I tried using Anonymous connection and not (i.e. logging in as admin w/admin password)

Any suggestions about the solution?

Welcome to StarWind Forum. I would assume that the script does not work, or you cannot connect to the StarWind Management console.
The default credentials for StarWindService are root/starwind
Let me know if that does not resolve an issue.
p.s. if you ever need to reset the password for Management Console reset viewtopic.php?f=5&t=5101&p=36175&hilit= ... ZDg#p36175
p.p.s. the default credentials for CVM TUI are swadmin/rds123RDS

Hey — good post. Really useful. One thing to watch out for: make sure you’re not using the deprecated StarWind Hardware VSS Provider for devices that don’t support snapshots — it’s not really supported for non-snapshot storage.
Also, check StarWind’s logs (look in C:\Program Files\StarWind Software\StarWind\logs or via the management console) — they often give clear hints when VSS or sync issues crop up.
If things still don’t add up, it might be worth raising a support ticket with StarWind — they’re pretty responsive.
