I'm trying to transfer my Starwind Free license from 2 servers to a different 2 servers. The new servers have "HyperV" installed and the license won't allow it to install.

I'm trying to setup an older version of Starwind (8.0.9996) so the latest license won't work.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get a license for the older release?

Thanks

asmith3006,

Is there any specific reason for installing the outdated build of StarWind that was released over 14 months ago?

To be honest, mainly because it still came with the GUI. I'm really stuggling to get to grips with the poweshell alternative and documentation.

At the moment, you will not be able to use the current license with an outdated build, as the license is not backward-compatible.

OK, thanks.

Is there a complete guide to the Poweshell interface? If I run the get-help command I only get given about 8 commands, which don't help with monitoring / updating.

Thanks

I am afraid at the moment I cannot offer you any detailed guide except for the information you can get via PowerShell itself. Yet, it is planned for release after the new build is published. Meanwhile, you can check the StarWindX example scripts and build your own ones on their basis.
