Hi Guys,

Any issues with esxi 6.5 and starwind? I'm going to deploy it next month. I will share what I will find but please, don't hesitate to share those who tested or deployed already.

Thanks.

Hello everybody,
We are testing ESXi 6.5 with StarWind V8 R5 release candidate build which is available via the following link: http://tmplink.starwind.com/StarWind_8. ... 170124.exe. Please keep in mind that this build is not for Production yet, but we would appreciate any feedback from you.
Also, in case you will face any issues with this build, please do not hesitate directly submitting a support ticket with the problem description. Make sure to mention you are using RC build as well as the forum thread reference you have got it from.
At this point, our QA department reported that everything looks good.
So, I would recommend you moving to ESXi 6.5 after updating to StarWind V8 R5 build, thus you should not have any issues.

Hello Michael, is there any new version? where can I find the builds? I have no experience with StarrWinds (actually just crossed by yesterday, but already found it awesome :D ), also I have good experience is sysadmin in general and Im very experienced in virtualization and server administration, never tried virtual storage solutions before but I am sure that isnt a problem for me.

I would like to also ask another question, Is "Starwind VSAN Free" an executable that I install on top of Windows or could I do it via Linux? Do you guys have virtual appliances also for free?

BTW I will also be sharing my experience in a dedicated thread

Hello Giovannirc,
You can download the most recent version by the link in the registration email - https://www.starwindsoftware.com/regist ... irtual-san
At this point, StarWind can be installed on Windows only, but we are working hard on VSA on Linux. Currently, it is under testing in QA department.
The step by step guide for Hyper-Converged 2 Nodes Scenario with VMware vSphere is available here: https://www.starwindsoftware.com/starwi ... re-vsphere
