HI,

IM new to StarWind Virtual San, I am simply trying to add a phyiscal hard disk as a device to export with iSCSI.

On my starwind server, i have added a new HDD, i have not formatted it or put it online - it is raw unformatted disk.

IN starwind console, I right click on my target and add device (advanced), select hard disk device, then select physical Disk, and it does not show any physical disks to export.

I can see the disk in Windows disk management, and its showing as offline and unallocated.

How can i get this to work?

Just to add on to this - I have tried this on a different VM on a different host and getting the same problem.

Please try to create the device, navigate to C:\Program Files\StarWind Software\StarWind\logs and upload the latest log for me to take a look what is happening. If the log is too big to attach, you can upload it to some file sharing dropbox. Thank you

Hi,

R&D guys require more information: please enable Level 3 loglevel in SW console and try to create physical device once again, after that upload the new log file. Also let me know specs of the device you are trying to attach (manufacturer, how it is attached to ESX, whether it is connected via USB interface, etc).
Thank you

P.S. Below you can find the instruction on enabling Loglevel 3:
