Hello all,

I have a two node windows 2012 R2 Hyper-V cluster that reports the following application error through out the day:

Code: Select all

Faulting application name: dllhost.exe, version: 6.3.9600.17415, time stamp: 0x54504134
Faulting module name: hardwareprovider.dll, version: 1.0.0.1, time stamp: 0x52406d28
Exception code: 0xc0000005
Fault offset: 0x000000000000834a
Faulting process id: 0x2180
Faulting application start time: 0x01d24b5d8253f853
Faulting application path: C:\Windows\system32\dllhost.exe
Faulting module path: C:\VssHWProviderStarWind\hardwareprovider.dll
Report Id: 2b751995-b751-11e6-80e9-000af7478540
Faulting package full name:
Faulting package-relative application ID:
Both nodes show this same error and it has been going on for some time (Long before I took over the servers). I do not see any issue where I think this is causing a problem as fail-over works and the rest of the vSan seems to be working as expected. I would like to get this resolved as I prefer production systems to be as error free as possible, well as much as MS will let you :)

Starwind build info

Code: Select all

The log file name: 'logs\starwind-20161130-121718.log'
11/30 12:17:20.619 ed0 Srv: StarWind iSCSI SAN v8.0.0 (Build 20140610, [SwSAN], Win64)
11/30 12:17:20.619 ed0 Srv: Built Jun 10 2014 22:54:57
11/30 12:17:20.619 ed0 Srv: Windows Server 2012 Standard Edition (Build 9200)
11/30 12:17:20.666 ed0 Srv: Kernel version information (kernel32.dll): 6.3.9600
11/30 12:17:20.666 ed0 Srv: System CPU count: 16
11/30 12:17:20.666 ed0 Srv: CPU affinity mask 0xffff from 0xffff.
11/30 12:17:20.806 ed0 Srv: Config file: 'StarWind.cfg'
I also have a full log gather of both nodes at the time of the error. Running win2012 R2 Standard on two identical Dell PowerEdge R320's hosting a total of 6 Hyper-v VM(Two of which are HA). I am new to starwind but familiar with other vSan and San setups. First thought is the build we are running seems to be a bit behind. Let me know what you think.

It sounds like a bug. I'll fill a bug report and open a ticket for this case. R&D will contact you soon. Thank you for cooperation! ;)

Hello Abradley,

Thank you for your update.

This issue was fixed in one of already released builds. An update to the latest build should help you.
