Guys
I reaslised I hadn't replied to this....and I have been using StarWind for a while.
Why did I buy Starwind?
Becasue it was an excellent product at an excellent price. I had bumped into it a while ago (back in the very early days) and when I needed a vSAN in this job StarWind sprang back to mind - I couldn't afford a hardware active-active SAN but could afford a load of network ports.
Why am I pleased I bought it?
It does what it says on the tin (for me) and, of course, the excellent support . Hi Yaroslav
In my experience, once configured, the software sits there and does its thing, reliably and without interference, even on slightly less than optimal servers and less than tip top network infrastructure.
Just this week Yaroslav has helped get the new cluster set up with the CVM appliances (even though they aren't as performant as the Windows native application) despite my best efforts to break things by following the manual (top tip - don't enable SR-IOV and careful with jumbo frames
)!
Keep on doing your thing guys - excellent product & excellent service.
