How to add a device to VDO? An error is reported when adding it. Do you have this document

The two options selected by you are optional, while the bottom one is mandatory ("Use 512 Byte emulation" - not selected in your case). Enable it and try the same action.

I follow your instructions or the same error prompt. No matter how to select the option, I cannot create a VDO device

You will not be able to create a VDO device on top of a disk smaller than 5GB. See screenshots from my lab:
4GB-error.png
4GB-error.png (42.69 KiB) Viewed 11793 times
5GB-OK.png
5GB-OK.png (11.31 KiB) Viewed 11793 times
This looks to be a limitation from RedHat, although I was not able to find anything like that in their VDO documentation.

create vdo IS OK! THANKS!
But there is another problem. After the VDO device is mounted, format the device and mount it. Create a disk through the management tool, but an error is reported.

Do you have a complete documentation manual for vSphere? There is no introduction and instructions for this version.

In this document, I did not find any part about adding and creating disks for VDO devices.

VDO related documentation is not yet available, as there are some UI glitches related to VDO operation, particularly from-time-to-time issues with 512b block size emulation at the stage of VDO device creation. Documentation related to feature is going to be published once a fix is available. Feel free to check our release notes at https://www.starwindsoftware.com/releas ... re-vsphere in the future.

Unfortunately, at present I do not have any exact ETA. This should be a matter of several weeks, I believe.
