That's a great breakdown! The networking side of StarWind iSCSI is where most people get stuck.
For anyone else running into connection trouble, always check two things-
1) Make sure you're using the correct iSCSI port (3260) and not the management port (3261).
2) Using dedicated, separate networks for iSCSI traffic and Sync traffic is essential for both performance and reliability.
