We have a KVM IMG image we want to convert to ESX server format. We used the converter tool and it says it successfully converted but when we try to boot the new VMDK file it starts to boot then kernel panics? We know the IMG is good because we where able to successfully install it on another KVM host and start and log in. Looking for any ideas or suggestions.

Thanks

StarWind Converter is *converter* application. We take one image format and convert it to another. We don't alter data actually stored on the virtual disk image. For real V2V *migration* (and I think it's exactly what you're looking for) you really need to change HAL, storage device drivers, video and so on as set of hardware ESX and Hyper-V emulate is *different*. You see what I mean?
