Doing general maintenance on a HA cluster. What are the correct steps for doing maintenance on a HA cluster? How do you suspend, reboot or shutdown a node (or both nodes in the cluster) without causing a not sync condition? For example on Microsoft patch Tuesday.

I shutdown all access to the cluster before rebooting just to be sure that nothing was being written and still both nodes are saying not sync.

Node1:
- stop StarWind service
- perform maintenance steps
- start StarWind service
- perform synchronization

then, the same steps for the second node

Node2:
- stop StarWind service
- perform maintenance steps
- start StarWind service
- perform synchronization
