I have a Solaris x86 box as an initiator trying to connect to Starwind on x64.

I have 1 400GB IDE drive, and 2 300GB SATA drives on the ICH8 controller.

Set up SPTI, and that didn't work as Solaris couldn't recognise the disks, so gone to DiskBridge.

DiskBridge works, and appears in Solaris' list. However trying to do any command involving the disk results in a spew of:

Code: Select all

SYNCHRONIZE CACHE command failed (5)
errors.

Any ideas?

1) SPTI would not work with ATA disks and Solaris as quite a lot of SCSI commands are missing and not properly emulated with ATA disks firmware.

2) Looks like we need to add "do nothing" code for "SYNC CACHE 0x35" SCSI command. Valery, can you check this out please?

Thanks!

For ALL: The problem has been fixed.
I used the x64 patch and it seems to have worked. ZFS is reporting a fully stable filesystem. Thanks.
The feature for Solaris wil be released in StarWind v3.2.3.

If you need it immediately please send a request to our support.

Hello,
I'm having exactly the same problem, running Starwind 3.2.2 32bits on Windows 2003 and Solaris 10 6/6 as an initiator.
May I receive the patched dll? Many thanks!
