I'm having problems with creating a mirror image and wonder if anyone can help.

On the first server with StarWind, I create an image file device with the following properties:
My Computer\C\iSCSI\mirror1.img
-flat image file
-size 4096 MB
-async mode
-target name mirror1

On the second server with StarWind, I create an image file device with the following properties:
My Computer\C\iSCSI\mirror2.img
-flat image file
-size 4096 MB
-async mode
-target name mirror2

Then, I try to create a mirror (RAID-1) device on the first server:

-new image name 'Mirror Volumes\C\iSCSI\mirror.mir'
-local mirror path 'Image Files\C\iSCSI\mirror1.img'
-remote iSCSI target: address OK, port OK, target name 'mirror2', cache mode 'replication'.

When I click 'Next' to finish creating the mirror I get:

"The specified first mirror file cannot be read"

File permissions are all Full Control.

Ideas / suggestions to fix? I am testing StarWind for site-to-site replication.

Hi,

You need only to create mirror1.img file and not to create the corresponding ImageFile target.
Instead create the Mirror target and specify the image file as the first mirror and the remote target -- as the reprlication mirror.

You need StarPort 3.2.x to be installed to the StarWind machine to use the iSCSI replication feature.

On creation of a new Mirror device, the two mirrors will be synchronized (the primary one is copied over the secondary).
Best regards,
Valeriy
