Hi, hope someone can help.

We started a server and storage virtualization programme a few months ago. We were using wintarget. With wintargets acquasition by Microsoft we have found support impossible to get hold of here in the UK.

We are looking into the possibility of using a different iScsi target.

we need the following feature

We have a NAS with iScsi on in one office with several virtual drives, we have a backup device setup the same in another office.

We were looking to use doubletake to replicate the drives hosting the disks on the iScsi service. However, when the backup disk files were copied back to the original server and monted using Wintarget they were seen as new blank disks by Windows.

Would Starwind work as we would like ? I.e backup the original disk file using double take and then in the evernt of a disaster copy them back across and remount as hey presto the original disk is back. Thus elliminating th eneed for offsite backups ?

thanks in advance

Drop us a message to info@rocketdivision.com and we'll issue you with Double-Take + StarWind pre-release integration guide.
