Hi All,

I'm currently running an eval copy of StarWind on 2 HP servers. Sharing of the internal compaq disk array volumes were okay. :) But, when I tried sharing the 300GB Secure Path SAN Volume from our HP storage, Starwind cannot see the disks.

Is this normal? How can I make Starwind recognize the disks and share it?

Thanks in advance for your advise. :D

Tony

Hi Tony,

The StarWind SPTI module can experience problems with accessing of some vendor's disk devices or arrays. This is because they implement the SPTI interface in a different way.

A more reliable and flexible way to share your storage is to create one or more ImageFile devices storing their virtual disk files in the real disk storage.
This way should work with any storage that is recognized by your Windows.
Best regards,
Valeriy
