5/10 15:13:21 4a8 ntsrv: Installing 'StarWindService' service...
5/10 15:13:21 4a8 ntsrv: *ERROR* CreateService failed: Insufficient system resou
rces exist to complete the requested service. (code: 1450).

Please check whether:
1) your system account has Administrative rights?
2) There is several MB of free space at your system volume?
3) The local security policy allows installing of new services?

Thanks for replying Valery.

I feel like a dud here, but I don't see an "allow service installation" line in the local policy? Am I looking in the wrong place?

I've logged in as the local system administrator and I've got about 60+GB of free space on the system volume. I got the same error when I ran the same command.

Stan,
it's a very strange behaviour of the service installer.
The error code means there is leak of some resources in the system.

Is this the first time you install StarWind to the machine?
What is the verdion of StarWind?

You could try:
- starwindservice --uninstall
- reboot the machine
- starwindservice --install
- starwindservice --start

Have you tried to install the same installation to any other machine? Does it work for you?
Best regards,
Valeriy

This is the first attempt to install it. I'm contemplating using it within my organization.
Version 3.1 build 20060424

I had tried the uninstall but, since it never installed, it says that the service wasn't found.

I have rebooted between tries. But will try again.

I'll give it a try on another machine.

Thanks again. :)
