ipxe boot from vSAN: iSCSI only or nvme-over-fabric?

Designing a cluster of workstations intended to boot from shared storage on a zfs pool via vSAN. It appears iSCSI is readily supported as both an initiator and target, but I can't find the same information for the higher performing nvme-of protocol (which Starwind also supports, but the initiator seems to require an already-booted windows system.) Does anyone have any experience with this?

Thank you,

LT.

iPXE boot works only for iSCSI now.
NVMe-oF is going to be beta soon. Stay tuned.
