actually I hadn't. I re-looked at my linux vms and realized they defaulted to 1 cpu. I bumped to 4 and ran again. still 4-6 gb/sec. I then tried again with 4 parallel threads and now see an aggregate of 20 gb/sec! is it the case that multiple iscsi sessions in your linux guest will use separate kernel threads? if so, I think we've solved this! in which case, many thanks!

Great! I am happy that we made some progress.
I think this is a purely synthetic test to max out the network performance that represents the condition when there are multiple i/os over the network.
