Hi,

I am trying to build an VVol storage with Starwind vSAN. The binding has been done. The result of getVASAinfo:
instance of __PARAMETERS
{
ReturnValue = "Success";
serverCertificateHash = "444865XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX39D5";
VASAUrl = "https://192.168.XXX.XXX:9991/vasa";
};

I tried to access the url in web browser. vasa.vasa file can be downloaded.

Then I tried to register the storage provider in vCenter 8.0. But the certificate warning keeps popping up. What should I do to get this registration done?

Thanks.

Hi,

Could you let me know what happens if youpress "yes"?
Please look under troubleshooting section https://www.starwindsoftware.com/resour ... iew-guide/

Thanks for reply.

The article you provided was the one I followed. I click Yes, the warning showed up again. that's the problem.

Were all of them vCenter 8?

Today, I rebuilt the starwind cluster from scratch. I followed the guide step by step. But I still got the error (warning keeps showing).
Is starwind vSan's VASA working on VCSA8?

Hi,
Just wanted to make sure that I understood your question correctly.
You were able to activate the VASA provider, but the certificate keeps popping up, am I reading it right?
Also, are you using StarWind VSAN for vSphere (i.e., a VM deployed from the OVF template), or a Windows-based installation?

Hi,

Actually I downloaded the vSphere version first. But I went back to Windows based installation since I was unable to find any guide for VVOL on Linux-based appliance. If there is any doc for Linux-based appliance building VVOL, please share it with me. I can have a try. Thanks.

Anyways, now I am using the excact some configuration in https://www.starwindsoftware.com/resour ... iew-guide/. And the problem is:
1. Add a new storage provider.
2. Type in the url, username. password.
3. Click OK.
4. The Security Alert shows up.
5. Click Yes.
6. A few seconds later, the same Security Alert shows up again.
7. Click Yes again. The same Security Alert shows up again again.
Dead end.
If I click No, it goes back to New Storage Provider page. Feels like VCSA does not accept the certificage Starwind's VASA is using.

Thanks,

John

Hi,

I have uploaded the logs at https://drive.google.com/file/d/1pg8JNM ... sp=sharing.

There are 2 nodes as the guide. I run the commands on node 1 except the ones which were marked to run on node 2.

Thanks.
