Gradually increasing Disk IOPS/Throughput in vSAN Free GUI

After observing the disk throughput/iops in the web GUI under performance it seems like the numbers are gradually ever increasing. The network throughput however stays constant near zero. Taking a look at the esxi disk usage shows no usage matching what is displayed in the device. Is this bugged or is there something going on that is constantly using my disks? Rebooting the VM resets the throughput to zero. However it will gradually increase shortly after reboot.
