Disk operation failed. Disk path:xxxx Error code 1117

I have 3 images 2 are working ok no problem however one image will not synchronize. The log reads Disk Operation Failed. Disk path: D:\VHD\smb.img. Error code (1117)

Node 1 SMB image is not synchronized and constantly attempting to do full sync. The event log reads
...current node synchronization started...
...current node changed synchronization state to synchronizing
...current node synchronization failed...

Node 2 SMB image is synchronized and accessible. The event log reads
...full synchronization of partner node started
...partner node state has changed to synchronizing
Disk Operation Failed. Disk path: D:\VHD\smb.img. Error code (1117)
...synchronization of partner node failed

Any clues on what could be wrong?

What is the storage configuration? Please also try setting MTU to 1514 or 1500.
