Hello there,

I am new and noob on your product.
I would like to have some clarification if possible (I have searched a bit on the forum but I didnt find any answer for my question).

Firstly my use case is quite simple ;
I have two sites lets call them site A and site B and they are connected by openvpn.
On each site I have an ESXI host which hosts 3 vms (1 management, one dc and one file server).
Site B is a new site

What I want to achieve ;
I would like to sync my shares synchronously from file server A with file server B.I have tested DFSR which works without problems and even with large files, I would say it works fine.
But I discovered that it lacks the opplock feature and my users would mutually destroy the work done on the files.

The second problem is as always the money ...
So after many searchs I have found your solution vSan Free which if I have understood correctly would achieve my goals, am I right ?
But the setup isn't straight forward on free edition, what about the pro solution ?
Can you give me a guide or a bit help to configure it in my use case ?

If it works fine, depending the price I would definitely buy a licence for me and many other ...

Thanks you in advance for the help and the time you are gonna provide.
Kind regards

NTFS is not cluster-aware. To avoid data corruption you need a file share role installed or a cluster-aware file system. See more at I have connected the target on different hosts and when I write the data to the target on one host, I`m not able to see it on other client machines that have the same disk connected. Why? section of https://www.starwindsoftware.com/starwind-faq.
But the setup isn't straight forward on free edition, what about the pro solution ?
The setup process is the same as for paid version but StarWind VSAN is to be configured via the scripts (check this out https://forums.starwindsoftware.com/vie ... p+3#p31505)
what about the pro solution ?
For more details, you can request a live demo or Q&A session with one of our techs. Fill in this form https://www.starwindsoftware.com/#demo.
Can you give me a guide or a bit help to configure it in my use case ?
Guides
StarWind VSAN for Hyper-V https://www.starwindsoftware.com/resour ... rver-2016/
StarWind VSAN for vSphere https://www.starwindsoftware.com/resour ... r-vsphere/
please make sure the networking is redundant betwen the sites (i.e., at least 2 switches per site, 2 NICs per server, and 2 independent cables going betwen the locations).
If there is no way to meet the network redundancy requirements, witness node is needed (see more about node majority https://www.starwindsoftware.com/help/N ... ategy.html)
Free version implies no StarWind Management Console GUI, so you need to perform configuration with the scripts from C:\Program Files\StarWind Software\StarWind\StarWindX\Samples\powershell
