Hello,
I am planning a migration to new servers and with that, their specification. Would StarWind VSAN Hyperconverged 2-Node Scenario with Hyper-V be ok with single high-performance NVMe PCIe SSD per node? So, without RAID1 or RAID10.
Performance and capacity wise, this is a no brainer (think Samsung PM1735), what about resilience / data safety?
One school of thought says - no, you really should not rely on a single drive ... but other says yes, it's a drive on a PCIe card and data is synced to other node anyway... Besides, RAID contoller is single point of failure just in the same way as such NVM PCie card is.
What is your view of this?
Any experience with Intel's VROC in case I go down the route of RAID1?
Would iSCSI pose any problems with such setup?
Best regards,
Andrej
