Dear Sirs,

I installed a trial vsan with HyperV on windows server 2022. however, I followed the setup wizard as in the link below:

https://www.starwindsoftware.com/resour ... rver-2016/

however, if I restart "Virtual host 1" I see the VM's migrated to "Virtual host 2" but after 15 seconds all VM's state switched to paused as they lost connection to the CSV.

Any idea what could be this problem?

Thanks

Welcome to StarWind forum. It may be that you have problems with iSCSI connectivity. Can I have the logs, from both nodes please? Use this tool https://knowledgebase.starwindsoftware. ... collector/ and any conventional file transfer service (e.g., Google Disk, OneDrive, SharePoint).

Hi Yaroslav,

I have managed to fix the iSCSI connections and everything seems to be working fine so far. meanwhile, I need to ask you about iSER, the NIC I'm using for this deployment supports RDMA, however, my question is iSER connectivity between two nodes should be on the Sync interfaces only?

thanks and regards,

Thank you for your update.
iSER is an experimental feature. Were you able to resolve the problem with the outage due to host restart?

Hi,

Yes after I updated the iSCSI connection, I tried to restart both nodes, and the VMs migrated from node1 to node2 seamlessly and vice versa.

So if iSER is an experimental feature, do you mean it is not recommended for production use? please advise.

Thanks and regards,

Hi,
Good to know you fixed it. Yes, it is not for production now. You still can enable iSER for synchronization links.
Have a great weekend!
