Hello,

I have some questions regarding StarWind VSAN for vSphere:

- how can I check the version of currently installed StarWind VSAN for vSphere?
- when a new version comes out, how can I update it?
- is the fact that CentOS will not be free anymore going to change anything?
- what is the role of performance profiles?
- is it possible to set up NTP synchronization?

Thank you!

Best Regards,

- how can I check the version of currently installed StarWind VSAN for vSphere?
Go to StarWind Management Console -> Select the server -> Configuration -> register. OR open any log file in /opt/StarWind/StarWindVSA/drive_c/StarWind/logs
- when a new version comes out, how can I update it?
Here is the guide https://knowledgebase.starwindsoftware. ... d-version/. If your VMs have no internet connection, just import the upload file via WinSCP.
- is the fact that CentOS will not be free anymore going to change anything?
Please keep an eye on release notes. For now, everything is alright as is.
- what is the role of performance profiles?
See more at https://www.futurehosting.com/blog/opti ... ith-tuned/. This setting is fine to be left as is.
- is it possible to set up NTP synchronization?
May I ask you to check if StarWind VM has access to the ntp servers specified in "chrony.conf" file? You can get them using the command: cat /etc/chrony.conf

Hello,

was the build 14033 for VMware pulled back? I've tried to update from build 13861, but the updater says that the latest version is already installed.
Is it ok to use the Console build 14033 for VMware VSAN with build 13861? I cannot find the Console build 13861 anywhere.

Thanks!

I have the previous console version now - thanks to excellent StarWind support! 8), but it would be interesting to know what's with the 14033 build now.

Do you still recommend setting the following on both ESX nodes?
esxcli storage nmp psp roundrobin deviceconfig set --type=iops --iops=1 --device=eui.someid

Thanks!

Yes. That parameter is set with the rescan script for StarWind HA devices.
