Good morning,

We are working on a rather complex VMWare environment, with two Starwind vSANs that appear to be replicating to each other. The original architect is no longer here, changes were made after he left, and it is very unclear as to how the environment is setup.

What we can't determine is if we are actually using the Starwind datastores in the VMWare environment.

The .img files on the Starwind Windows VM have a date modified of 9/29/2019, which suggests (may not prove) that the file storage has not been used in months.

Please advise if the date/time stamp proves it is not is use, and/or how I can search the VMWare setup to prove it is in use or not, or any other way to determine how/if the Starwind vSan is in use.

Thank you for your help!

Hi,
What we can't determine is if we are actually using the Starwind datastores in the VMWare environment.
There are to ways to determine that.
1. You can check if there are active sessions from VMware ESXi in StarWind Management Console.
2. See if euis of disks that host VMs match IDs of StarWind HA devices.

Should you require further assistance, please contact StarWind Support.
