Power Outage - One CSV did not auto synchronize

Hi All,

2 Node HyperV Cluster on Windows Server 2012r2 &vSAN Free

Using vSAN Free sucessfully for a while now - not too many issues and very happy with the solution!

We had a power cut yesterday evening and this morning I noticed that the Cluster Shared Volumes that are provided by vSAN were not available and the VMs has failed.

Loading up the Starwind Mgmt Console one of the CSVs was auto synchronizing. After it finished synchronizing the first image (HAImage1) it did not start to automatically re-synchronize the second one (HAImage2). I notice that on both nodes they only have iSCSI connections listed for themselves. Why?

It does not seem like I can add them back in the mgmt console (Free version limitation i guess). Is there a powershell command that I can do to add them or something else to get this working?

I appreciate any and all help :)

HyperV01 (& 2) show two of the iSCSI connections as "Reconnecting"

I guess these have to be enabled on the Starwind side before windows can connect to them - but I am not sure how to do that. <<< This is what I am looking into right now

Access Rights is set to Allow All in the mgmt console.

The enum devices powershell script won't connect to the local host (HyperV01). But Check SW Connection does with the same credentials. Very confused :?

Greetings,

Most probably device in question became not synchronized on both nodes. Because power outage was immediate nodes didn't managed to automatically determine which of them should remain active.
You can read steps on how to fix it in our article:
https://knowledgebase.starwindsoftware. ... -blackout/
Hope this helps.

Hi VMax,

Thanks for your reply - as I am on Free Ed I was trying to run the powershell scripts so after actually connecting to the correct IP and port (loopback wasn't working  ) I ran the SyncHaDeviceAdvanced.ps1 and then saw the device was syncing in the console. After the sync was complete the iSCSI connections came back up.

Horray!!!

Many Thanks,

Hello,

Happy that it worked. :D Can I take a look at the script you used to create HA devices?
It should be configured as we outline here https://www.starwindsoftware.com/help/H ... ategy.html (see the bottom of the page).

Should you require any assistance, let us know!
