Does VSAN support the Cluster Aware Updating functionality of Windows Server when using a hyper-converged setup (hyper-v and VSAN on the same boxes)? From what I can see, no. I need to put each node in the cluster into VSAN maintenance mode first, update and reboot it, bring it out of maintenance mode and then move onto the next member of the cluster. I know CAU supports some scripting, so maybe I can do that, but it might be beyond my abilities.

It does support the hyperconverged scenario. There is no need to manually interfere with the process, according to the testing performed on our side. Check this https://www.starwindsoftware.com/blog/w ... e-updating for the example of how to configure everything. The blog post includes a CAU pre-update script. It works as it is, you just need to adjust your IPs.
