Hi all,
i have this situation
two identical server
Hp Proliant DL360 g 10
32 gb ram
3 x sas 2TB disk ( in raid 5 the volume for each server will be 4TB)
2 nics

i need to build one domain controller (windows server 2016) for 40 users whit some programs and printers installed and one shared folder on it,
the customer would like to have the situation that if one of the two machine have an hardware problem the users can cntinue working,
the 2 server (or the vm on the 2 servers )should be syncronized in real time
i do not have vmware licenses , iwas thinking to use Hyper-v and make a virtual machine and use the asycronus replica between the 2 servers but i know that this will not be a good solution , becouse the switching is not automatic and will be some time dealy etc.
A friend of mine talked me abaut starwind vsan but he dont is an expert,
so i starting to read abaut this software in this days anyone know if it can be useful in my case,
and how i colud integrate it in the configuration for do what i explained?
Thanks in advance for any tips
and sorry for my english :)

Thanks i already read that page and there reccomend to use raid 10
"HDD
For HHD-based RAID arrays, it is recommended to configure RAID 10 with the following settings:
Disk cache policy: Default (disabled by default);
Write policy: Write Back;
Read policy: Read ahead;
Stripe Size: 64K.
and in fact im asking if that configuration could be possible whit the hardware that i already have, i will use RAID 5 , also i have some difficulties to understand the explaination in that link,
im planning to install Hyper-V server 2016 (its similar to the version of windows server core whitout GUI) on both servers , and then create a VM on the VSAN

Hi,
You can use the this guide for Hyper-V Server.
You can face slow write performance with RAID 5, that is one of the drawbacks of RAID 5 on the spindle disks. Please find the recommendations.
