Hi,

Is iSer still supported on VMware ESXi 6.7?

I am testing in my lab an ESXi 6.7 host with a 40 Gbit Mellanox ConnectX-3 Pro card, directly attached to Starwind server but devices don't appear.

I read this post from Anton a moment ago:

"There are some issues with **VMware** and guest RDMA so currently it's iSER on Hyper-V (soon to be phased out by NVMe over Fabrics), and pure iSCSI on VMware (yes, we'll do NVMe over TCP there). "

https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/ ... for-vmware

So is this the case? iSer will not work with ESXi 6.7 / StarWind vSan?

That is news to me. I am running two windows 2016 storage appliances in active/active on ESXi 6.7 using iSER and it works fine?

Hi,
Thanks for replying.
Ok, so you are using iSer initiator from Vmware ESXi 6.7?
Which version of Starwind Vsan do you have?

If you have proper hardware and iSER is configured - yes, you'll have iSER / RDMA on sync even with Windows Server.
