New Build - Not Working

Hi Guys,

Just reinstalled 2 new nodes with Server 2016. Only added to AD and installed MPIO.

Software installs fine

Heartbeat - 1GB direct link between both nodes

Sync - 10Gb direct Link

Image files are created fine, but both Sync and Heartbeat channels then refuse to come up on both nodes. I then reinstalled the Operating system and installed 2012R2 and receive the same issue. This all worked on these nodes before with no issues. The only difference this time is I am running a Server 2016 Active Directory domain.

Running build V8.0.0 (12658).

I can run various traffic over the heartbeat and sync channels just to test they were working fine.

Any thoughts?

What network cards do you use? Vendor and model, please.
https://forums.starwindsoftware.com/vie ... f=5&t=5209 this thread may be of some help for you in case you've got Mellanox ones.

Hi,

For the 1Gbps NICs we use the on-board Broadcom NetXtreme cards on the Dell R720 in use.

For the 10Gbps NIC we use Tehutin Networks TN9510 card.

Mnay Thanks

Do you have Jumbo frames enabled?
If yes, please try to disable Jumbo frames.

Hi Adrian,
Please try to rename iSER_DM.dll file.
Stop the StarWind service on the node, locate the iSER_DM.dll file in the StarWind installation folder and rename it (e.g. to iSER_DM.dll.bak). Start the StarWind service again and do the same on another node.

Hi Oleg,

Have done as requested.

On the first node, It was showing the device, but not as a HA device

On the second node, it is showing it as a HA device with the links down.

I have removed and just tried to recreate the device. It is now created on Node 2, but nothing on Node 1. When runnning the powershell script i now receive the following error:

Exception calling "CreateDevice" with "4" argument(s): "Plugin is not supported"

Thanks
Adrian

Fixed the error with plugin not supported by reinstalling StarwindsX and Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable.

Hi Boris,

My last updated was only related to the plugin error I received. I still can't get the syncing to work.

Thanks
Adrian

What kind of error is reported now that you have reinstalled StarWindX? Is it possible for you to redo the device creation from scratch and check the result?
