Virtual SAN - Configuration

Hi friends,
i installed Starwind vSAN free last day on windows 2012 server machine and 2016 machine. i am new to this software. what my purpose is to virtually add storage from my PC storage to vSAN. iam able to connect the two machine , but i could not add storage devices and create virtual storage.
what my real purpose is, to monitor the virtual storage device using powershell.

My Question is

1 . am i using the right software?
2. is there any configurations i have to add in my windows like IIS or iscsi, isns ( already installed) ?

You can use this guide.
It is better to have the same version of the hypervisor on both nodes.
