12TB 7200RPM HardDisk

Hey experts,
I am going to put together my VSAN for VSphere with some existing PE R920's. I was wondering if I could throw 4 of the newer 12TB 2.5 SAS drives in there and get 24TB of usable storage. Has anyone tested the new drives for performance? Its also the slower 7200RPM drives.
