Hello,
we use 10GB Chelsio iWARP network cards with RDMA on a win 2016 host.
For some reason I can't activate iSER on it's interfaces.
I checked:
Get-SmbServerConfiguration | Select EnableMultichannel
Get-SmbServerNetworkInterface
Get-NetOffloadGlobalSetting | Select NetworkDirect
Get-NetAdapterRDMA
Get-NetAdapterHardwareInfo
Everything looks fine.
Do I have to enable something else first?

Could you please specify 10GB Chelsio iWARP network cards model to double-check this network card support iSER? Possibly StarWind could not recognize this NIC as iSER compatible.
What StarWind version are you using?

Chelsio T520-BT
Starwind Build 8.0.0.12166
Is iSER needed for L1 (WB-)Cache syncing? Otherwise I would probably just skip it.

iWARP and iSER are quite different technologies of RDMA implementation.
Actually, iSER is not needed for L1 Cache syncing.
