File Server Datastore Location New Deployment

Hello,
I am planning a new Starwind deployment using 2 ESXi nodes for the Starwind storage. All of my current VMs are on a shared SAN is there any disadvantages to putting the Windows files servers on the SAN and having Starwind point to the local host storage or would it be better to have the actual files servers on the same local host storage (if that makes sense)?
