Hi,

I'm preparing to upgrade our production servers StarWind to the latest version, which are currently running build 8730, to the latest build which is currently at 11456 (https://www.starwindsoftware.com/release-notes-build). We were first going to do a dry run on our dev servers to the latest version which are currently at build 11156.

Do the instructions on this post still apply? https://knowledgebase.starwindsoftware. ... d-version/

Also, there appears to be a difference in the volume of "Registered UI Plugins" between our older prod 8730 and newer dev 11156 environment builds:

StarWind Version Plugins v11156.png

How do we manage these?

Is there anything else we need to know or be cognizant of?

Thank you,

-IP

InphinitePhractals,

You do not need to worry about the differences in those plugins. In your 8730 setup, you have some plugins that were just residual and are no longer supported in the latest version. This is the reason for having a different list of plugins.
As for the general process of updating StarWind VSAN, here are the main steps that need to be performed:
1. Check that all StarWind devices have the Synchronized status on both nodes;
2. Move all Cluster resources from the node which is going to be updated to the partner node;
3. Run the installer and update StarWind VSAN;
4. Wait until StarWind service starts and the synchronization process is over;
5. Repeat steps 2, 3 and 4 on the other node;
6. Redistribute the work load between the servers back to the initial state.
