Microsoft Hyper-v Server 2016 + Starwind FREE, license problems?

Hello Everyone,
I need to know if I can use Hyper-v Server 2016 as standalone storage machine and in what conditions. Regarding licensing.
1. Can I provide storage to Hyper-v Server2016 cluster, just by sharing SMB share from another server running Hyper-v Server 2016 ?
or
2. Can I provide storage to Hyper-v Server2016 cluster, using Hyper-v Server 2016 and free version of Starwind Virtual SAN?
Is any of this tow scenarios violating Microsoft Licensing ?
I need to make a very cheap production storage for high density storage using 7.2k disks and free software.
Any Idea , Suggestions would be appreciated,
Thanks,
I didn't find the right solution from the internet.
