I am attempting to gain maximum capacity with my compute and storage solution. I was thinking of grouping the JBOD together and making storage spaces with the parity resilience option. I have seen documented that the best performance is achieved with hardware RAID 10 but this would of course cut my capacity in half.

So is it possible to get a good enough performance with the Windows Storage Spaces solution with JBOD disks (24x300GB SAS) ?

chrisguk,

If you stick to hardware RAID configuration on HDDs, StarWind's requirement is RAID10. If we speak of Storage Spaces, you will need to create Mirror if you want to have any resiliency. If you follow any of these ways, you lose half of your capacity.
