I have the same situation but with Hyper-V. Don’t wont to start new thread because as we see for now there is no solution.

It is a SuperMicro server. I will see if I can try on a non L series proc machine.

I have the exact same error on a HP machine running a X5570 Xeon so there is definitely a bug in the software.

just installed it on ESX 6.0u2 with L5630 and the VM booted and runs fine but I cannot make an LSFS volume it says the VSA is not licensed for it?

My question is why is the partition/volume encrypted anyways? This should be an option for the end user.

Can we get a status on this? This is keeping me from my testing and possible introduction into our production environment.

I have the same issue /dev/sda2 password using StarwindVSA for Hyper-V so keep me asking the password.
Environ --> VMware Workstation 12.5.7 VM's in Windows 2016

Anyone found the solution for that?

Thanks,

Hello Mario,

Could you specify the hardware of you Hyper-V server? Additonally, could you share the login screen you are seeing?

Best regards,
Al

Hi,

I have the exact same issue with E5540 CPUs - hopefully there's a solution on the way :)

when can we expect the next update?

i have the same issue here. tried to evaluate starwind linux vsa and getting this problem on Xeon L5520

virtual storage appliances suck. [ ... ] won`t let me deploy their solution without vcenter (why should a storage cluster depend on such?) and starwind won`t let me deploy it because they have weird processor depencendies inside... ;) (just kidding)

rolandk,
Ufortunately, there is no ETA information for an update of StarWind VSA at the moment.
As for vCenter dependency for VSA, there is no obligatory dependency. The only reason why you would need vCenter installed is when you decide to use StarWind plugins for VMware ESXi and manage StarWind VSA directly from vCenter. No other cases include dependency that you stated.

i was talking about [ ... ], not starwind. looking at that now - as it works on Xeon 5520 cpu ;)
