NVMe as L2 Cache - What happens in case of failure

Hi!

I see the option to add an NVMe to both nodes of my HA-setup to increase the cache size.

Can you tell me, what happens, if the NVMe fails? Does the target go "offline" on the host, which uses the NVMe, or does only the L2-cache get deactivated?

The NVMe seems to be a single-point-of-failure, as it is not really redundant.

Thank you for your help

Regards,
KPS

A user at Spiceworks said currently the target goes offline and you manually disable the cache to bring it back online. There is a feature request to make it disable cache automatically.

Hi!

How can I manually disable the cache? Do I need to recreate the volume and start a full-sync?
I did not find a possibility in the GUI to change the L2-cache.

Do you have any expiriences with the NVMe-drives and their reliability?
