Bring DR-Node online

Hi!

I want to use StarWind with an additional DR-node, that is synchronized asynchronously. I found the possibility to mount a snapshot read-only on the DR-site, but is there any possibility to bring the DR-node online, if the primary cluster failed?

Can I just delete the replication-task and make it read-write?

Thank you and best wishes,
KPS

Hello KPS,
Thanks for interested in StarWind Solution
1) In the current build, mounted snapshots can be only "Read-only"
2) To run your production from DR node you could delete LSFS async device, add it back as "Existing device" and connect it in iSCSI Initiator - you will get the last copy which was replicated from your production nodes.
3) Alternatively, you can copy files from mounted read-only snapshot to new StarWind device or Underlying (local) storage and run production

Hi!

It would be great to have the option to bring the DR-Node online and/or to have the ability to mount a snapshot read-write.

ZFS does this via "clone snapshot" to bring in online.

KPS

Hello KPS,
I will create a feature request to our R&D and I believe it will be available sometime in the near future.
Thanks.
