Hello, i have a very simple lab setup using starwinds version 8.0.0.9996 as ISCSI target, but for some reason I cannot get vaai to work
The starwind server is running on win2016 with dual E5 proc and 96gb memory, and 2 esxi6u2 server with similar spec.
I connected the starwind server to supermicro jbod setup with 14x 2tb sas drive and 2x800gb ssd with an adaptec raid controller.
The drive is setup as raid 10 with the ssd as maxcache (read/write). The starwind server & ESXI have dedicated dual 10g port nic just for the ISCSI initiator interface setup in multipath.
Anyway, I've created 2 iscsi target with 4tb flatdisk setup & 30gb of L1 cache.

The vm performance is great, but somehow clonning vm from template and svmotion between the 2 target feels slow.
I did some investigation and notice that my iscsi nic is passing lots of data during svmotion or cloning vm.
I follow this guide https://www.starwindsoftware.com/starwi ... s-properly and it seems like everything is checked out, but I am still seeing lots of data over the iscsi interface from both the server and esxi.
Looking at esxitop vaai stats, the only counters with values are ATS and ATSF, CLONE_RD CLONE_WR stayed at 0.
Just want to reach out to the guru here and see what I did wrong and see if there's a trick to get VAAI to work.

Thanks

Hello azev,

Thank you for letting us know about this issue.

We have spotted this issue about a week ago and already have a fix to it. This fix is now in our Q&A department and should be included in our next release build.
We expect new build to be released during next week.

Thank you very much for your understanding and patience.

Is there still a new version coming out to resolve this issue?
