I would like to install and try out vSAN in a hyperconverged deployment in a VMware environment. I have received an NFR license and have downloaded something.
As I understand it, I am able to do this with an NFR license, but I am supposed to deploy and use a pre-configured virtual machine that the StarWind team has made for the purpose of evaluating and learning about vSAN with VMware. Am I able to deploy vSAN in a hyperconverged configuration in a VMware environment with what I have here?

To put it kindly, the information that I have been given and what I can find is jumbled and lacking, but seems to indicate that I cannot deploy vSAN hyperconverged with what I have been given. Additionally, the people that I'm in touch with via email cannot seem to tell me if this is correct. If there is a clear answer I would greatly appreciate to hear it.

To deploy vSAN, you need .ovf template which can be requested from this page: https://www.starwindsoftware.com/starwi ... al-san-ovf

I would recommend configuring disks for StarWind VMs and future StarWind storage as Thick Provision Eager Zeroed because this setting has significant influence to whole system performance. As for the network configuration, it is recommended to set up a dedicated NICs for Synchronization and iSCSI channels and make sure that you have enabled jumbo frames on it.
