Hi All,

I'm trying to setup Virtual SAN Free v8 and having issues, I've been following the pdf guide https://www.starwindsoftware.com/techni ... FS_SMB.pdf

Which says I can do this with the Free version, the problem I have is getting the iscsi to connect..... I get a error message about license restrictions in events?

If this isn't allowed with the free version, how do you use it????

Thanks
Nick

Hello,

You are quite write, free version have iSCSI restrictions.
To create SMB file server, you need to follow our CTO blog guide:
https://www.starwindsoftware.com/blog/p ... er-2012-r2

Thank you.

Hello,

StarWind free license has restrictions, you can`t use the iSCSI connections.

So in this case, you can create SMB share, which is described in the document upwards.

Thank you.
