Hi

I'm deploying Virtual San on two hyper-v server core in order to get storage HA for two ESXi host server.

The disk is large 4TB and use GTP. I've dedicated one partition of 3.5 TB to Virtual San.

Due to vmware limitation, do I need to format also this physical partition with BS 512 to use Virtual San thick-provisioned hd?

Performace matter; any advice is appreciated.

Thanks
Ettore

Yes, you have to use 512B block size, otherwise, ESX will not be able to work with it. Some more information is here: https://knowledgebase.starwindsoftware. ... lock-size/
