LSFS/Deduplication Update

Hi All,

I was after an update on when a few features for Starwinds may be coming out.

1 - Expanding a LSFS De-duplicated volume.
2 - Support for larger than 11TB.

My understanding from reading the forums is that LSFS does not appear to be production ready.

To give you an idea on my set-up/requirements. I have around 90TB of Veeam backups which I'm currently using with Server 2012 R2 Post-processing de-duplication. I'm looking for a was to do this de-duplication in-line.

I assume that Starwinds still does not support a volume this large? or does it?

Thanks,
David

AFAIK Veeam dedupes (compresses) it's own backups already. So you want to dedupe already compressed data once again?

Tarass, What would be a good recommended setup for David, with his current setup?

Thanks.

Unfortunately single LSFS device is limited by 11TB right now and not expandable yet (expected in the future builds), however, you can still create a couple of them. If you would like to use an in-line deduplication for VEEAM backups it would be better to disable deduplication in VEEAM and let StarWind LSFS do the job.
