When configuring the SMI-S provider, what what is the easiest way (i.e. to avoid errors) to:

1) Create additional concrete pools
2) Configure the image type to be thin provisioning instead of thick.

Also, is there a XML config guide available to guide potential configuration changes?

caz3542,

You can do this only through direct editing of smis-config.xml file.
There is no any document for this operation, but it very simple to understand.
2) Configure the image type to be thin provisioning instead of thick.
You can change type of the pool using a StarWindSMI-SConfugurator.exe application.
